For those who may concern...
For our European readers:
LibreOffice Writer in Solus starts in US Letter format by default. This is inconvenient, as we use A4 paper.
To permanently change this, do the following:
Use sudo to create the file /etc/papersize and enter "a4" (without the quotes) as its content.
Writer will then always start in A4 format.
