Can't install Solus

Sorry that i can't provide much info, but basically, when i try to boot SolusOS using ventoy, a black screen appears, and then a shutdown happens, there's a little log that can be saw in some frames, something related to systemd.

I'm using the SolusOS budgie ISO

larkjkj Make sure you are using the latest version of Ventoy and also the latest version of Solus Budgie. Check that the iso you have is not corrupted by using the process detailed in the Solus help centre.
Try a different USB stick, some don't play well with computer boot.
Try your USB on a different PC.
Try booting a different OS from your Ventoy stick. Just copy another iso into the Ventoy partition alongside the existing Solus one.
Make sure to post details of your computer here to help us help you. At a minimum RAM, CPU make and generation and graphics card.

PS: It is Solus. Not SolusOS. Not Solus OS. Not Solus Linux either.

I'm using the last version of Ventoy and of Solus, i'm using an ASUS M515DA, it contains a Ryzen 5 3500u with an Integrated Vga 8 Graphics, 16GB of RAM, and a NVME M.2 SSD, also, it has a bad battery, so maybe it's related to my faulty battery?

The exact behaviour when i boot the Solus image is just a hanging(maybe a systemd service?) in black screen, and then it just shutdowns forcefully.
Also, i tried some more ISOs like Windows, Arch and Void with the same USB, both worked.

larkjkj You look to have covered a lot of ground there. Did you manage to check that the iso downloaded OK? There are instructions here for how to make sure. When I copy an iso to Ventoy I always make sure the USB will unmount properly as removing too soon is the easiest way to corrupt your iso.

BuzzPCSOS Yes, i left it connected and made a MD5 check to confirm they were identical, also i noticed something, this only happens with the Budgie ISO for some reason, using any other Desktop Environment, the iso boots normally.

It's not exactly solved, but i managed to install it without any more complications.

nor will it ever be solved. too many variables. I have never had a 100% success rate exploring isos on Ventoy. More like 70%. Things like Suse, some deb derivatives, fedora kinoite (sp?) --stuff like that never opens (Black screen, blinking cursor).

( Solus Budgie, ironically, has always loaded in Ventoy for me. )

If Ventoy fails I burn the iso with Etcher to a spare USB = 100% success rate. @BuzzPCSOS listed a lot of factors that go into a successful install. I would argue Ventoy itself is a factor sometimes.

On a bizzarre note some things that would not boot on Ventoy would have success if I changed the bios to legacy instead of UEFI. Go figure, I cannot.

It's Linux, sometimes you have to fight for that victory, as you did. It's not a Solus thing by any means.

From me too.
Ventoy is a strange beast, by which I mean it has a compatibility mode that is supposed to handle BIOS or UEFI from the same stick. Better success can be achieved by telling Ventoy to install as GPT (From memory, some details may not strictly be 100%).
Etcher is another good option although without the option to install with MBR/GPT compatibility. Lots of others too, like distros you just have to find the one that is right for you.

oh crap that's right. I wonder if any iso burner has mbr? I don't even think it could be done in dd..

brent as I remember it in Etcher you would have to choose MBR or GPT when you burn the ISO to USB.
Rufus (for windows) and various others had similar requirements.
The Ventoy feature of (mostly) coping with either format. Plus the ability to boot with multiple ISOs kind of makes me forget any shortfalls.
