Steam Replay 2025

It's that time of the year again! Steam Replay 2025 is now available, for those wanting some interesting and nicely presented stats regarding their gaming on Steam, so I thought I'd create a thread again to share and maybe discuss.

Two things noteworthy about this year's Replay for me. Firstly, I played more games than usual. This is in large part due to the fact that in July and August I started to play/test some games I've had in my Steam library for years but never even installed. I went from A-Z and didn't get further than somewhere in the middle of A, but hey ^^

Secondly I initially wondered why the Replay no longer showed a chart comparing my Windows and Linux usage until I realised that it's because I haven't used Windows at all this year. So huge win for Steam Proton and Linux gaming there. Though I have to say that I was closing to using it a month ago, when SCUM multiplayer wouldn't work at all under Linux. Only thing that stopped me is that my Windows partition is so small these days that SCUM wouldn't fit, and by the time I considered resizing it my buddies wanted to play a different game again anyway 😆

But here I also remembered that it's, among other things, because we played Return to Moria on Epic (free copy), not Steam 😀

I barely play my Steam library this year. I spent this year playing emulated Nintendo games 😆.

I have been more limited in the spread of games, as I usually would be in the 20-30 range, but focusing on my company early in the year and, for my spare time, getting back into contributing again has taken some of the place of it. No complaints though.

LOL, I might be a bit of a fan of Path of Exile.

EbonJaeger Oh hey, Phasmophobia! My buddies and I have had this game on our wishlists for quite a while now but haven't yet gotten around to actually trying it. From your stats I take it that you'd say it's a good game? ^^

Staudey Definitely! It's not perfect by any means, and at times the ghosts frustrate you, but it's still a lot of fun. Playing with friends also means that shenanigans can happen 😛

Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 is amazing love this game!
Civilization VI is one of my all time fav game since release (but I actually like 5 more)
Balatro: Only 8% I feel like I played more than that.
Cair Oscur Expedition 33: Really great game, Happy to see it won the GOTY but I was not in the mood for a turn based RPG.
Fragpunk: Don't remeber playing that game that much was really forgettable.

Of course It doesn't count what I played that is not a steam game. Because there is games that would be in the top games I played way more than some we see here like The sims 2 and 3 (sims 4 is bad), emulated nintendo games and pokemon romhacks / fangames.

Nice. I started playing Hammerwatch (the first one) with my friends at some point, quite enjoyed it for what it was, then we dropped it because my friends were no longer motivated. Recently I found out that one of those buddies apparently played through it on his own later. He actually misremembered it as us playing through the whole campaign together ^^

Heroes of Hammerwatch and Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 seem to offer some more intriguing gameplay, maybe I'll try to get my buddies to play them with me 😆

I'm trying to figure out where the "Sports" and "Cooking" categories are coming from. Maybe Peak is sports since it's rock climbing? And come to think of it, Arctic Eggs was primarily about cooking (but hoo boy is there ever a lot more going on in that game).

There were a few hidden gems from this year that really stood out:

Xanthiom Zero is an NES-style metroidvania that has a ton of really cool mechanics. Short but sweet, with a great story.
Arctic Eggs is a surreal experience of a game. I really don't know how to describe it. You cook eggs and sometimes things that aren't eggs. Play this game if you haven't already.
