I think I am going to have to try a different approach. If I can't repair the iso then I think I should re install a new post Epoch one. I think Solus 4.8 is post Epoch. When I installed the current iso I Partitioned the drive to include / and /home. I think this means that the iso is installed in / and all my data in /home. Hopefully this means that the reinstall should leave my /home intact. I will obviously back up before I start. Is this correct and a reasonable solution to enable a fully functioning distribution?
