can't use new xfce installation iso for xfce

i've been trying to install the new 4.8 iso for xfce, but each time i try to boot into it after installation i just get a black screen. i figured it's an nvidia issue and tried using the nvidia option in the installer, but that results in me not even being able to boot into the liveusb.

Have you tried other desktop environments to test them out?

Julien68 i am able to install and use kde, so it seems to be an xfce issue. plus i was able to install the old version with little problems minus some freezing issues before installing the nvidia drivers.
