No Global Shortcut for OBS in Wayland

I understand we are making the move toward more modern stuff and Gnome is going to drop support to X11, but there's a fundamental tool in the creators' economy that doesn't work with Wayland.

Wayland does not support Global Shortcuts, which is a bad design by default, global shortcuts are very useful.

But due to that, using OBS turns into a complete nightmare, especially if you stream.

I saw a workaround using websockets, but...I'm kinda of an end user, and I didn't get how to properly set it up and it relies on scripting each shortcut and custom shortcuts aren't available (like specific scene switching).

Do we have a solution for Solus? With Gnome 50 on the verge we could create something so easily solve this., making some "workarounds" available natively.

Just to clear up a minor misconception here, Wayland (at least on major desktops) does support global shortcuts. It's OBS which doesn't support the Wayland way of doing global shortcuts.

However, there exists an OBS plugin which adds this functionality. It probably wouldn't be too hard to package- if you'd like to try that option, please submit a package request.
