Mateo Not sure why the angst on this. @Harvey who is part of the Solus team didn't say anything about whether he likes or dislikes Snaps and it wouldn't matter if he did. He along with @Sebastian linked information towards the root of your problem. This is an issue due to how Snap and Apparmor interact and based on my recolition it was becoming a hassle due to the way Canonical handles it. This brought in security concerns. This is why many distros don't like to utilize Snap. They came to the conclusion that it was best to move on from it, based on that information. However due to the potential changes with Apparmor and the Linux kernel, they decided to hold off as they may not need to. So, if they disliked Snap so much, they wouldn't even bother even worrying about it. Instead they are working to see if it is feasible to keep and improve Snap support.
As far as the " whole mess with Flatpak Builder" have you opened an issue? I do not see one in the issues list. If you haven't probably not likely to get looked into.
Regarding Electron Forge, they control what goes into their tool. You would have to bring up the lack of eopkg support to them.
Appimages depends on how you set it up. Using something like GearLever and the app integrates decently. Not perfect obviously and certainly not an ideal path, I agree.
