I have been using the teamviewer.tar.gz from here for the last 2 years.
Unfortunately, it has stopped working for me. Lately I have tried anydesk as was suggested here as alternative to teamviewer. Was working just fine.
There is an unofficial flatpak available on flathub
I personally have just downloaded anydesk from the official website:
https://download.anydesk.com/linux/anydesk-7.1.1-amd64.tar.gz
You just have to extract the archive, enter the anydesk-7.1.1 directory, make sure that the anydesk binary is executable and click on it to launch anydesk.
There is no need to run the install script.
You might want to run sudo eopkg it libgtk-3 libcairo pango libx11 libxcb libxrandr libxfixes libxdamage libxrender to ensure you have needed dependencies installed.
For desktop integration you can copy the anydesk.desktop file to ~/.local/share/applications/ and edit it to make EXEC and ICON point to the anydesk directory and comment out TryExec=anydesk.
It then may look like:
[Desktop Entry]
Type=Application
Name=AnyDesk
GenericName=AnyDesk
X-GNOME-FullName=AnyDesk
Exec=/home/sebi/Programme/anydesk-7.1.1/anydesk %u
Icon=/home/sebi/Programme/anydesk-7.1.1/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps/anydesk.svg
Terminal=false
#TryExec=anydesk
Categories=Network;GTK;
MimeType=x-scheme-handler/anydesk;
Name[de_DE]=AnyDesk
Logout/reboot and you should be able to launch anydesk via startmenu.
