If you have backed up your home to external drive using rsync, you would plugin the media to the newly installed system and just the reverse the locations in the previous command.
rsync [-a|--archive] path/to/source path/to/destination
If you have your old home files on external, a straight copy over as needed of config files, scripts, or whatever will work too, for an easier approach.

I don't remember back to installing Solus ๐ it's treated me so well as a rolling distroโa couple of times over the years I had to restore images due to my own errors, and I think a hardware failure once.
