Vivaldi will not launch

Fresh install of Gnome with updates installed Vivaldi-snapshot from Software . Shows up in Menu but will not launch. Tried sudo eopkg up -x vivaldi-snapshot -x ffmpeg-chromium-vivaldi-snapshot
returns "up to date"

eopkg li | grep vivaldi-snapshot
vivaldi-snapshot

In another thread I wrote that you should check the exact package names. It doesn’t have to be ffmpeg-chromium-vivaldi-snapshot; it could be ffmpeg-chromium. And the command with -x must be performed as the update itself, not after the update with sudo eopkg up.

thinking I would be cute and named the new install "rock-solus" might be the problem . so how to fix ?

If I may ask, what is the reason you want/need to use the snapshot instead of the stable version?

AlphaElwedritsch makes no difference both on flatpak.

Try kill all proceses vivaldi: pkill -f vivaldi.
Check: ps aux | grep vivaldi | grep -v grep
Run in the terminal: vivaldi-snapshot
If the error persists, run:

find ~/.config -name "*vivaldi*" -type d

and delete rm -f ~/.config/vivaldi-snapshot/SingletonLock if you have it.

That fixed it, typing from my Vivaldi profile with site profiles still intact. 😍
