brent I opened a TTY and did rollback with eopkg history -t command. No problems for now, i will wait for a fix before updating again.

Can't update flatpak via terminal. I usually run flatpak update and restart the the application when notified of a new version. The command returns a nothing to do output and the applications have new versions available.

Solved , updated versions of apps haven't been uploaded to Flathub.

Uh when using my laptop a gnome advertisement popped up where notifications usually do
and said gnome needs your help i didnt catch all of what it said.
Are we in the advertisement business now?
This is a no go for me will not use an Os that does this.

Axios This is a question about a possible donation. It comes directly from Gnome and has nothing to do with Solus. It was introduced a few Gnome versions ago and happens very rarely. It's only happened to me twice. In my opinion, it has nothing to do with being intrusive or advertising. But fine, if you can't or don't want to live with it, there are plenty of alternatives. Nobody's forcing you to use Gnome...

sounds like part of a script wasn't snipped out of the updated gnome stuff (haven't read O-Cyn's link yet). If I was able to use my Budgie and log into it I'd probably be appalled to but I'm sure it's a one-time thing. hang in there we've lived thru updates like this before 🙂

Axios The donation reminder was newly introduced to GNOME to help with funding. This is only supposed to show in GNOME and only twice a year. But since Budgie is still kind of based on GNOME this pop-up somehow snug into Budgie as well I guess.
If so, that's a problem for the Budgie devs to solve.

gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.housekeeping donation-reminder-enabled 'false'

AlphaElwedritsch KDE does once a year in December, but can be disabled. They got input from the userbase, and it allowed them to get more funding than they ever had before. Unlike Gnome, which gets funding from Red Hat, Ubuntu, and other corporations, KDE does not. Because of the way they do it, I did not mind as much. They took the Thunderbord approach.

164 Solus updates processed today on Budgie.

I couldn't restart my computer normally: the User Indicator button stayed inactive, both in the Budgie menu and on the system tray. The only solution was to launch the terminal and type reboot, which resolved the issue, and it hasn't happened again since.

Another observation: although I use the Pocillo-dark style, the Discover window appeared with a white background; after this update, Discover now displays with a black background and a smaller font:

Furthermore, I would like to know if the arrival of Solseek (congratulations to @Original-Syn ) changes the choice of installing Discover on KDE Plasma, Budgie, and XFCE, and Gnome Software on Gnome? Or should we still keep Solseek and Discover/Gnome Software because they are complementary?

pocillo observation very mmmm.

other feedback: I removed discover on budgie with no repercussion. you do have the choice, I am down to eopkg and solseek basically.

If I was a gamblin man maybe reset my budgie panel without user indicator? [question for self]

penny-farthing I brought it up with harvey last update and they put a fix in for discover to play nice with dark themes so its normal.
Looks so much better being dark now.

Oh and the restart thingy happen to me to.

Not surprising. Significant updates especially to the DE or systemd can cause this which is why some distros default to installing updates on reboot.

As was pointed out I added a patch to Discover from upstream which makes it obey dark theme on systems not using Plasma, this code is not due to be in a release for several months but since we are defaulting to Discover on Budgie and XFCE I figured not obeying dark theme was a significant issue that should be addressed sooner if possible.

Reality is it is highly unlikely that Qt apps will ever perfectly fit theming on gtk DE (Gnome, Budgie, XFCE) just as gtk apps don't on Plasma. From reading an issue a long time ago it seems Gnome devs are of the opinion that Qt apps should stand out as different... So as long as it obeys light/dark for these users, I am happy.

You can do whatever you want. But Discover or Gnome software will remain the OS provided defaults and recommendation. However it should be known that solseek does not currently have a notification mechanism to alert people of available updates.

Not actually the issue. No one encountered any of these issues and I am still unable to reproduce any of it across multiple different systems and VMs.

All went well except one minor thing: on Tor Browser, the minimize, maximize, and close buttons are invisible. When I move the mouse cursor to where any of them they ought to be, only a grey circle is shown. On my other machine it's the same, except the close button becomes red when I move the mouse cursor to where it should be. I've tried a few other programs but it seems to be only Tor Browser that shows this behavior.

No I haven't solved. Asked team for guidance a couple times y asking how I should proceed to recover Bugie. Nobody has gotten back to me. They have their hands full and I'm patient.

My biggest fear is self-wrecking Budgie if I rollback or reset panel. No one has told me to do that.
So Endeavour for now. It's a sound OS. It ain't Solus Budgie but it will do.
