Solus Xfce, Discover or Gnome-Software, dark or light theme

I have an issue with my Solus Xfce laptop. Today I updated all my computers, and Discover got installed in all of them. However, in my Solus Xfce laptop, Discover doesn't feel responsive, and takes a long time to start. Besides, Discover opens in light theme, whereas Xfce is in dark theme. I suppose that there must be a way to change Discover to dark theme, by modifying some file, but I don't know which one.

For this reason, I decided to install Gnome-Software, and uninstalled Discover and its dependencies. The problem is, whenever I reboot my laptop, Discover gets reinstalled again. I suppose it must be the script, it detects that I have Xfce, and it reinstalls Discover.

Is there a way to stop Discover from getting reinstalled?
Is there a way to make Discover adopt a dark theme in Xfce? This is curiosity, because I think I prefer Gnome-Software over Discover.

I have reported this issue to the packaging channel and was asked to open an issue for this.

You can comment on that issue. For example I wasn't sure whether your system was up to date.

Hi I am on Budgie, and Discover is also in Light theme. Everthing else is Dark theme!

I am on Budgie dark side too, and Discover has light theme!

There are two separate issues on this thread:

Discover keep getting reinstalled after reboot
Thanks to @Sebastian for reporting the issue on github. Anyone has the same problem, please comment on that issue.
Discover use light theme on dark mode Budgie.
This was known issue and was supposed to be addressed by this MR, but KDE devs want a more holistic solution. (Not blaming them or anything). So, it is what it is for Discover for now. We will see how it goes.

I am on Budgie and can confirm that after manually removing Discover, it re-installs on each boot.

I tested this mechanism twice.

Yesterday I saw the usysconf-epoch fix, and updated my laptop. It's solved. 🙂

Having Discover in light theme with an Xfce desktop in dark theme was not a big deal, I could live with that. The problem was that Discover felt very clunky, for some reason Gnome-software works better. I was afraid that, if I had both Discover and Gnome-software installed, they would interfere with each other.

I have another laptop and a desktop computer with KDE Plasma, and Discover works better in them, no clunkiness.
