Xoph I honestly thought I would be the only one that used this when I started. I am thrilled that people get use out of it.

As for Solus, I have been using Linux since 1992, not long after the famous Linus announcement. I have worked on and used the big names in the distro world. I have not enjoyed a distro or community as much as I have Solus since the 90s. The team is absolutely wonderful and completely approachable. Just don't tell them that, or it might go to their head. I actually enjoy helping where I can because of it. So you found a great community and a great distro.

Solseek 0.3.2 Released! WIll be available after the next (todays?) update. I have been testing it on Unstable this week and think you all will enjoy the updates.

One quick note / minor bug. If you have Fastfetch installed and are not using a nerd font or newer font, the system information display in Solseek is missing the font icons as base monospace, hack, etc. default fonts don't support them. I will fix this, but know that it is just a graphical issue due to the font.

Sorry, I missed this. I always use new fonts on my system.

I made some modifications to fix some of the issues with 0.3.2.

Changed the calls for flatpak to specify system repo vs. user repo. This will not cause issues with any flatpaks installed via the user repo, nor will you have to remove the repo. Thanks, @Axios, for reporting the issue.
Added a configuration file to allow some very basic settings. This will allow you to set Fastfetch to disabled, using the icons (default), or text keys.
Also, thanks to @Patrice I have added experimental support for French. It is not on by default, but can be through the new configuration file.

This will all be available in 0.3.3 which has been pushed to unstable. It sounds like we are getting an early sync this week, so it will be generally available then.

Anyway to change the default window size at launch? The window size that is opened at launch across several of my machines are too small to fit the text without creating two lines...(on the left panel)

Sticky The problem is that Solseek is running inside the terminal. There are some ways to tell the terminal to resize from within the script. The problem is that they don't always work and different terminals support different ways, so it can become a nightmare to manage.

The best method would be to go into your terminal settings and set the default/start-up size for your terminal to a larger size.

So I asked AI how to change the default terminal in gnome...not sure if I trust the answer.

I'd like to change the default terminal for Solseek to Ghostty. Does Ghostty allow custom window size? Whats the best command to switch defaults?

....and maybe also for the entire system?

Thank you very much for this nice and handy tool Original-Syn.
Discover didn't update flatpaks so i tried Solseek with no problems.

With today's surprise sync that means Solseek will be updated to 0.3.3.

This fixes the flatpak issue with multiple repos and the ability to modify config for things like the missing icons if you are not using modern or nerd fonts.

Thanks again to you @Original-Syn for this wonderful and highly functional tool, not only for managing package updates in Solus, but also rich in diverse information.

Thank you (merci) also to you @Patrice for the French translation. I'm more comfortable using applications in my native language.

I tested Solseek without encountering any particular difficulties; its use is intuitive.

Regarding the suggested font, I downloaded and I ran the script from dDeedev. Then I opted for the FiraCode Nerd Font, and it's perfect!

I have created a small guide to making changes / correcting language files for Solseek using Github. This guide is more for the web, for those not as familiar with the git cli.

I will also create a guide when I get a chance on adding a new language. It is quite simple, create a folder with the 2 letter abbreviation for the language ("fr" for French) and copy over the language files from the base "en" and translate.

Original-Syn Just a quick note to say that line 61 in the en _dictionary.lang file has "Installed" misspelt (as Intalled). Not sure if you want notification here, or a PR to update it.
