my bare metal install strategy has been largely successful for years: 1) make the partitions in Gparted and make them friendly 2) lead Calmares to them...
...disregard if Solus gets the whole disk because that is insanely easy (provided you made the partition friendly).
theking2 Unfortunately the docs both on calamaris and on Solus on how the installer handles partition is sketchy.
agreed. it's trial and error that you learn with the GUI installer. and just when you think you remember the successful thing you did the first install, then the installer options change entirely the next install.
