Requesting to have some productivity apps.

I used to be a Windows user, but a few months ago I switched to Debian. However, I’ve faced a major issue: my system starts lagging when I work on a project continuously for over 10 hours.

To address this, I decided to switch again and chose Solus GNOME. I considered this OS for a few reasons:

It’s not backed by big corporations.

It’s considered one of the most secure OS options.

It seems light and fast.

That said, I did notice some missing productivity apps, such as:

Errands – A simple yet effective to-do application that I really love.

It would be great if Solus could consider including more productivity apps.

Another app I really like is Signal Messenger, but unfortunately, they only provide a Debian-supported package. If Solus could support Signal directly, that would be a huge help.

One innovative idea I’d suggest is an AppImage installer. Although we can already install AppImages manually, having official OS-level support to manage them would make a fantastic addition.

Errands is available as a Flatpak.

Signal is available for Solus as a package in the repo,

So both already exist and can be installed using the software manager on Solus.

Good to know about Signal. But even I don't want to use Flatpacks also. I suggest to add the package ton Solus package repo.

Yes, that's right. Compared to Debian or Fedora, Solus has significantly fewer packages. However, fewer is always relative. The key word is: quality over quantity.
Therefore, with Solus, the question always arises: How do I get the package? (1) Do I submit a request or (2) use Flatpak, if available (you shouldn't believe everything negative you find on the internet about Flathub...). I've never had any problems with option 2, and I live with it.
If this were to be considered a disadvantage of Solus (which I never would), it would be so small that it could never outweigh the advantages Solus offers.

@theabdulhakim this ^^. #2 is an easier path. you can never have all the things you love when going from distro to distro, it's not realistic. Sometimes you have to be willing to try alternatives--and believe me I do get attached to my productivity apps, I understand.
