can quibble with the downside since they are clinging to a knock from years ago but solus has the same stuff in repo that arch has in /extra. sans AUR 😉.

Well Solus>Void should have 2nd place, I used Void for a while and Solus works better, has more software, at least the ones I need.

OpenSuse Tumbleweed on #1?
Tumbleweed is a shit show. Installed it on my parents iMac. For codecs and other stuff you have to add extra repos. And basically constantly you are running into conflicting packages and unmet dependencies that prevent you from updating. Sometimes up to 10 at the same time.
Not hassle-free at all. It's not for beginners.
I am so frustrated that I gonna replace it with Fedora.

Guess I am just used to the smoothness of Solus by now.
My tolerance for bad Linux experiences is almost 0 by now.
Not gonna put life time in fixing stuff that shouldn't be broken.

Solus on the other hand you can install for an 80 year old who never used a computer before and he will be fine.
That's how good this distro is maintained.

I guess if your only criteria is stability, okay.

But stability fits into the much larger umbrella of useability.

So everything from hardware compatibility, stability, user support, ability to run multitudes of software, security, customizability, ease of use, etc.

So how do the distros rank with that in mind?

"Hassle-free experience" has got to rank up there.

@WhiteWolf 100% Agreed. Void is cool and interesting, but I do not see it even near the top of this list.

@Sebastian Yeah, I used to like openSUSE years ago, but they have been a mess for a while, especially with Tumbleweed.
