Chromium flatpak broken

Just updated Chromium to 140.xxx on flatpak via discover and it freezes when opened. Cant even get settings to open.

flatpak run org.chromium.Chromium
[2:28:0905/191511.101167:ERROR:google_apis/gcm/engine/registration_request.cc:291] Registration response error message: QUOTA_EXCEEDED

Happens on 2 Solus machines any ideas?

V140.0.7339.80 using nouveau graphics driver

Fixed it by starting from the command line

flatpak run org.chromium.Chromium --disable-gpu

then once running go to settings search for graphics acceleration and disable.

Funny how it was working fine before the update.

Just tested on Solus and tested it. I cannot duplicate the issue. Version 140.0.7339.80
Now I do get the QUOTA_EXCEEDED if run from the terminal, but no freezes, crashes, etc. Have you tried with clearning out the profile data or starting in Ingognito? The QUOTA_EXCEEDED error is just an API block on Google's servers and should not cause any issues.

What is the version installed?

Meant to add, you can make sure your Flatpak environment and apps are good by running flatpak repair

If you run it without sudo it is just a dry run and will just let you know if there are issues. If issues are found, run it with sudo.

banger I keep flatseal installed and from time to time I nee to disable
gpu acc. with it and then whatever usually runs fine.

Axios That could be it as well. I use Plasma which has its own tool like FlatSeal for managing permissions, so it would not have been a 1 to 1 test.

This was on Plasma. When I first started up Plasma was asking for permission to set 4 shortcuts then Chromium froze. I had trouble with Brave flickering and my first port of call was graphics acceleration.
