Keyboard backlight control

anyone got a solution to get keyboard backlight control back in plasma ? have made a bug report to KDE. Keeps disappearing after a reboot and then another reboot will bring it back. It is off more than it is on and backlight doesn't turn off when lock screen kicks in when control is absent.

The backlight setting is in System Settings - Power Management - Display and Brightness
If that disappears after a reboot, and then reappears, that's an upstream bug we likely can't fix.

Please share a screenshot of your backlight settings, and a link to the KDE bug report.

Interesting I hadn't spotted that. On my system it was disabled there maybe a link to the systray pop up. I have enabled it and set to 100% see if that makes any difference to the pop up display after a few reboots.

The picture is of the pop up from systray/task bar where the little lamp is shown.

Hello all.

not really a technical fix but I had the same issue with my C13 thinkpad.
fixed the issue by rebooting to the live usb (as the live usb works with the backlight) set the keyboard to 50% and rebooted now the backlight slider controls stays in place.

Can't you do it with fn and space?
Or do you want a more fine-tuning?

Mine is a Logi G11 on a Desktop and I have found if you shut down instead of restart the control will most likely show up. It's pretty random on Plasma.

Now sometimes when the screen locks and goes to black the keyboard backlight turns off but sometimes it doesn't come back on when you move the mouse to unlock or press a key. Again pretty random has to be something in Plasma.
