Zed Editor, selective keyboard input or not at all

[Not a Solus or Budgie issue]

Budgie, Solus is updated.
For some reason that I can't comprehend, zed randomly don't accept keyboard inputs or just some special keys but no the alphabet keys,, though I can use the mouse to navigate the interface, does some one have a clue of why it happens ?
Running zedit --foreground doesn't show anything about it

As @Solarmass pointed out, there is an open issue on zed-industries github:

It seems that ibus got an assert failure causing zed to not getting keyboard inputs and it only happens under X11.
Solus Budgie uses X11, that explain the issue here (Not a Solus or Budgie issue).

No, Budgie is still on X11. You can check what session you are in any DE with:

echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE

I have the same problem. I solved it by uninstalled Zed and then using the install script from the Zed website: https://zed.dev/download.

Edit: AFAIK this is not a Solus problem as I have encountered the same bug on Fedora as well.

Yeah Budgie cannot use Wayland atm.

Based on discussion it appears this is not a Solus issue as such there is nothing we can do until upstream addresses it.
