I'm wondering what is happening here:
Vivaldi- browser;
(Somewhere in browser window) Right- Click opens up a context- menu, but only for a split second! During that split second, the command (item in the context- menu), which happened to be at the position of a mouse pointer while right- clicking, gets executed.
REAPER (digital audio workstation), native Linux version;
Left- Click pulls down a menu from menu bar, but only for a split second! During that split second, the command (in the menu), which happened to be at the position of a mouse pointer while left- clicking, gets executed. I notice that this happens only with menus that are (too?) long.
Are these two the same bug? From user point of view, these have the same confusing effect, because you don't know exactly what just (unintentionally) happened.
I know two workarounds for this bug: Right- click but don't release the button until you have navigated above the desired command, that is, context- menu keeps open until you release the mouse button. This works with both applications. Another workaround is Vivaldi specific, where you choose "Compact" and "Compact Menu Layout" from "Settings > Appearance > Window Appearance". After this, you don't have that problem anymore with Vivaldi.
Now, are You experienced?
Have You ever been experienced?
Well, I have.
