TraceyC Huh... The Software Center has its quirks, but it is also a (admittedly minor) reason why I prefer Solus over other distros as a user of GNOME. While there's been some work done with GNOME Software in the past few months addressing its performance woes, it remains somewhat resource hungry. Software Center is delightfully lightweight in comparison.
It's interesting how Canonical went in the opposite direction investing in their own software center app in spite of being based on GNOME with its flagship flavor. Of course a major reason for that is a better integration with snaps, but I don't think it is the sole reason.
