Meson Question

Axios

I get this while compiling is it included with meson I could not find in repo
Still figureing out this linux stuff on compiling

Run-time dependency gtk+-3.0 found: NO (tried pkgconfig and cmake)

meson.build:8:11: ERROR: Dependency "gtk+-3.0" not found, tried pkgconfig and cmake

pkgconfig(gtk+-3.0) found in: libgtk-3-devel

So that dependency is the libgtk-3-devel package

Easy to find with the go-task commands and/or epcsearch.py script from the packages repository as used in the above example. Unfortunately a bit overkill to install them if you're not packaging for Solus.

This means the software you are compiling needs that package/library/dependency (Not necessarily meson needs it to function).

Honestly with meson, it is quite easy to figure out what is needed for a software to be compiled (If the README or any other documentation is poor), just read the meson.build file and the first few lines usually list all the dependency needed.

alfisya Ya been looking at those its hung up on wlroots right now which is installed
which is a depend in the meson.build file
not sure why its not seeing it

Axios Always install -devel packages of that dependecy not just the main one. So, if it asks for wlroots, it means wlroots-devel needs to be installed (No idea if that package exist, not checking).
