MakeMKV with BluRays on Solus-Budgie

Hello, I have recently installed the current version of Solus-Budgie and I have also installed MakeMKV. It will load and read DVDs but when I insert a Blu-ray it says loading and that is as far as it goes. When I insert a DVD is MakeMKV says loading and performs normally. Just not with Blu-rays. All works fine under Ubuntu-Mate 24.04. Any suggestions and assistance would be greatly appreciated. Do not know if Solus-Budgie uses newer rom drivers than Ubuntu-Mate. Thank you

as an edit, I guess I was wasn't remembering correctly and MakeMKV wont read DVDs either. Not from my Blu-Ray rom. Just fine from my DVD rom.

I can however open Handbrake and it can read and rip a dvd in the Blu-ray rom. Any particular info that is needed to assist just ask and I will provide it.

I can't really help with your problem, but I can confirm that I can use MakeMKV with Blu-Ray discs on Solus Budgie.

I don't remember having to do anything to enable my Blu-Ray drive to work with MakeMKV, I probably only needed to apply my MakeMKV registration code.

It may be a problem unique to your drive, maybe it needs some driver setup. It may be helpful to give details of your drive in case that helps someone debug things with you.

You might get better help from the MakeMKV forum.

It's an LG drive and here is what I got. Oddly I can read DVDs in it with HandBrake but not MakeMKV and I have entered my reg code also.

when I bring up MakeMKV if I do not have a DVD in it and put it in after I bring up the program, you know how it shows the disc spinning then you hit it and it scans the discs. well it spins and keeps spinning. oddly the DVD light goes off on the drive and the icon shows spinning non stop.

and if I open the app with a DVD already in the rom this is what I get and it never goes away

anything else you need or info from some other means just let me know.
