what's the difference between ffmpeg and ffmpeg-4.4 packages?

Both of these are in repo,
Solus comes with ffmpeg installed, I was double-checking I had it. I am going to batch convert a bunch of music mp3's to ogg's.
bascially ffmpeg -i song1.mp3 song1.ogg type stuff.

What's the difference in the two packages and which one should I be using for basic music file conversion work?

ffmpeg-4.4 is just a compatibility package with the old version of ffmpeg because vlc doesn't yet support ffmpeg > 4 (or at least it didn't last time this was checked). Everything, and everyone, else should just use the default ffmpeg package.
