Any Dead Simple Video and Photo Editors?

I took a look at the ones in multimedia.video but all them are too complex from a UI perspective and take time to open. I just want something to crop (photos), trim (video), maybe add some text really quick on things export and be done with it. I haven't been able to find anything like this on Linux. Everything is professional grade or simple but bad UI experience. Please help 🙏

SethStorm666 Pitivi is probably the closest to what I want, but still not there. Still too complex UI wise and no adding text box on screen as far as I can tell. pomon Cool, but no adding of text on screen is weird. These editors look fully featured and I can't find it. Mb I'm just dumb. Jumpy Too lacking on the feature side though good tool if all I want is a trim 👍️

I actually have an older version of this app on Windows simply called Video Editor that is my ideal video editing app for a guy that's not someone making a YT style type vid every time I open a video editor program.

If anyone can guide me to the program awesome. If it don't exist, well it is what it is 😝

I think you have to put some time and effort to learn a video editor. While Windows old editor is simple it's also limit because of its simplicity.

Years back I couldn't for the life of it figure out how to use Inkscape (a vector app for creating/drawing), but I was stubborn and force myself to start with something simple to create. Now I create icon themes for the people and money 🙂

SethStorm666 Will the thing is I just want to do simple things every once in a while. I open the editor, realize it's going to take more than 10mins to do what I want and ultimately say "nah nvm". But I get your point.

according to this article, Wine is the answer to all your problems....if you are dual-booting with Win..

flatpak search photo editor was disappointing but I did not try flatpak search video editor maybe you'll see something there

brent Good idea. I didn't even think about wine being an option. And you're right, there are no desirable video editors on Flatpak 😮‍💨
