GPU detected?

Hello everyone,

For a start, I want to say that Solus is a great distribution. I've been using it for 2 weeks now after testing some others. I even tried another one last week and I came back to it.

I think that will be for a long time, unless I have a problem and here I'm coming to the point. I will install a GPU soon and this will probably be a Nvidia one.

From this page [(https://help.getsol.us/docs/user/hardware/) ]I understand there is a tool for detected drivers. No worries then, we'll see ?

It should be trivial:

Just install your gpu
((Maybe connect the display to igpu first? To make sure it display something))
Boot the computer
Make sure your system is up-to-date sudo eopkg up
Install driver (only for nvidia cards), sudo eopkg it nvidia-glx-driver-current or via "Hardware Driver" utility (doflicky).
Reboot (Or maybe turn off)
((Connect your display to the GPU))
Voila your gpu is detected. lspci -v to make sure.

What series of Nvidia gpu are planning to use?

Great. This should be an ASUS RTX 2070 which I am planning to buy as a used one, but in a very good state apparently.

So it will display something if I plug the power, you mean? 🙂 ahah

If something doesn't work immediately after a hardware switch, one thing that often helps is running sudo usysconf run -f to force all usysconf triggers to run.
