Why does it take an eternity to installed some packages?

As the title say, why does it take so long? I downloaded a 5GB update today and I thought I borked my system when python-setuptools was taking forever to install. And then amdgpu and linux-intel-firmware was the same story.

I be getting stressed when nothing is outputted to the terminal lol. Is this simply an eopkg issue?

Yes, this has already been fixed in the Python 3 version of eopkg, but the fix hasn't been backported to the Python 2 version (and it would not be useful for the existing cases, because the updates including eopkg apply at the same time, so the fixed version won't be used for the initial update). It would be of use for upcoming updates though (but not for users who do a fresh install after them, unless an ISO with the fixed eopkg was released in the meantime).
