eric0d Is there an official timeline or plan for making GNOME Software the default software management tool in the Solus GNOME edition?
infinitymdm They don't really do ETAs here, but you can keep an eye on the Solus 4.8 Epoch to track progress. Finalizing the integration of GNOME Software / KDE Discover (depending on your edition) is one of the goals for 4.8.
TraceyC The high-level plan for making GNOME Software default on GNOME (And Discover on the other spins) is this: We are currently advising users to install GNOME Software / Discover on their systems, and use them for updates, so we can collect and address any issues. In 4.8, as you can see on its milestone, "Gnome and KDE Software Center finalization so we can deprecate Solus SC". As part of this, new installs will have GNOME Software installed by default (alongside Solus Software Center) on GNOME and Discover on the other spins. We plan on addressing major bugs in the software centers (that aren't caused by upstream, e.g. caused by our tooling) and polishing them up. In 5.0, we plan on making GNOME Software / Discover the official package managers. They will be installed by default on new installs, and installed on existing installs (if necessary). We will be deprecating Solus Software Center for 5.0.
