I JUST installed Solus 4.7. How do I enable a right click on touchpad

I've bounced around a few distros in the past including solus I think. I finally just landed on Ubuntu for its plumb dumb simplicity. I recently decided to get another windows laptop (Dell) onto linux again and was looking at what was new. I tried Debian but found it meh so I decided to try Solus budgie.

Now for the life of me I can't seem to figure out how to enable right clicks. On Ubuntu and Debian there was a little program/app "tweaks" I found a Gnome tweaks and downloaded it but it seems useless. I've looked at other settings but I don't know where to look.

By "right click" I mean when clicking on the lower right button on the mousepad/touchpad It would open a menu in firefox or thunderbird with options like copy or paste or open in new tab etc...

It's 2025 there has to be a way that I'm missing. Can someone explain it to me live I'm a five year old?

I'm not sure I entirely understand the problem. When I right click in Firefox I get a nice little context menu. What happens when you right click in Firefox or Thunderbird?

Is your touchpad one of those newfangled ones that doesn't have separate buttons or a real click? If so, you might try tapping with two fingers.

I don't have Budgie so I can't check that for you. But I do have Solus KDE Plasma and the lower right button on the touchpad does just as you described. Opens a window to copy/paste, save as, print etc. So maybe KDE would be a better DE for you to try.

I use Budgie and I think the default may be a two-finger tap to activate the right-click function. You can change this behaviour from Budgie Control Centre. Go to Mouse & Touchpad, then choose your preferred Touchpad click-type.

It appears the two fingered click was the default but found the proper selection in the settings through the process of elimination. I appear to be happily one finger right clicking now.
