Wayland session missing after GNOME 48 update

Hi everyone,

After updating GNOME from version 47 to 48 on Solus, the Wayland session disappeared from the login screen. Previously, I had both "GNOME" (Wayland) and "GNOME on Xorg" options available in GDM, but now only the "Gnome" that use X11 session.

I didn’t change any configuration files manually, and Wayland was working fine before the update. Here's some info about my system:

Solus edition: GNOME

GNOME version: 48 (after update)

Display Manager: GDM

GPU: Amd radeon 780m + Nvidia RTX 4050

Kernel version: Linux 6.12.19-315.current

Mesa version: 25.0.5

Nvidia driver: Proprietary

I’ve already checked:

/etc/gdm/custom.conf  => WaylandEnable=true 

System is fully up to date.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue after the GNOME 48 update? Any suggestions or workarounds would be appreciated.

Gnome 48 landed in Solus about a month ago, are you sure that is the cause?

You should be on kernel 6.14.x if you are fully up-to-date. Try updating again.

That is not the default config, this is of what it should look like:

Hazynewgamer1 I am affected by the same issue and I could not identify the cause. This does not seem to be affecting many users.
