Efivar (/sys/firmware/efi/efivars/) taking up more space

Hi after each reboot and update the /sys/firmware/efi/efivar directory is using more and more space (from around 66 kilobytes when I installed Solus 8 months ago to around 20 kilobytes right now). Is this a problem I should be worried about. The filesystem is mounted readonly and I believe it's mapped to RAM, but where is the data coming from?

I am not a math genius, but 66 to 20 is less than more for me

Sorry, I meant that the total amount of space available went from 66kb free to 20kb free

brambo29 I had a similar experience last year. It grew to 100% or so, and then reverted to a smaller size. I think nothing to worry about.

it's the wild fluctuations with that folder that always blew my mind, too.

elfprince Thanks for the reply, I'll leave it as is then. Before I was thinking reinstalling the entire OS to see if the size "resets" to the original size, but I think I will hold off for now 🙂

A little web searching found docs on the efivars filesystem. It's managed by the kernel.
