restore boot after motherboard change

just planning ahead a little here

last time i changed mobo i wasnt able to boot solus(wasnt listed in bios) so i ended up doing a reinstall.
but id like to avoid that in the future.
im pretty sure i saw a guide for this once but i cant find it

these days it seems like you always go to prepare BIOS more than anything else.

when I type motherboard into search I see a lot of scary reading, no guides. "Installing Solus didn't create bootloader entry in BIOS" was interesting deep in the mix. It has Kyrios and its 6 years old but he gives a clinic in this thread on prep.
