Copying files to Ipad

I have Ipad mini 2 to old for much just wanted copy files to it mostly pdfs to read on the go.

When I plug it in I get both (Ipad and Documents Ipad mount points) click on that and it brings up nemo with those mounted can copy images from ipad but anytime I try writing something to ipad if fails with error.
Did install Ifuse

With that error seems like its having trouble reading the file I am sending to Ipad?
I dont have Ipad logging into my Icloud dont want use it that way.

It works on my Iphone Seems either I have got to be connected to Icloud or the Ipad is to old

Solarmass Ya Apple loves to outdate things.

I use a cable i can get photos off iphone and can send stuff to iphone.
works good for local backup up of photos.

I just hate throwing good hardware away.

If you have internet and a working browser this is an interesting site to try.
Just put both devices on the same website and choose which one is the download candidate and which one is the upload candidate.
Have used it with good success between old iPads and other devices.
Edit: Apologies, this site seems to have changed. It used to allow files to be dynamically transferred from one device to another. It now appears that you need to upload your files and then download via a link you are given. Not sure if this works with old browsers or even if you would want to use it because privacy 😕
