  • Activating window when switching workspace

Hi, I'm experiencing behaviour that I'm not used to. I will try my best to describe what is happening, but it may not be clear. When I switch workspaces with my keyboard shortcuts, no window is ever active after the switch. It always requires an extra click to activate the window. When I say activate, I mean for the window on the screen to be usable. It is a minor annoyance, but I am often in the following scenario and after a while it frustrates me.

I will have a browser in one workspace and librecalc in another. I will enter something in librecalc based on something in the browser. When I switch from the browser using my keyboard shortcuts to the next workspace, I have to click into librecalc to enter what I need to enter. In other systems that I've used, the open window on any given workspace is active when switched to it.

I don't know if that is clear at all, but it would be nice if I could switch workspaces without needing to click or something on the already open window just to use it.

Thanks for any support or feedback you may have

If it is Budgie, there is a longstanding GTK/Mutter bug around workspaces and window focusing that will not be fixed until Budgie no longer uses Mutter, because the GNOME and GTK devs are focused on Wayland.
