I worked in a Windows environment for nearly 22 years at my workplace. Recently started my own small business. My business requires me to mostly work on office software for making quotations, send emails, download product catalogues in pdf. I had a 6 year old Dell Inspiron with Core i3 lying at home and tried to use it for my business. The first distro I installed was Zorin. Due to my curiosity I started trying out different distros and tried out Mint, Fedora, Manjaro, Peppermint in the last 6 months. Read some good reviews of Solus and have been using it since a month now. I liked the look and stability of Solus. My HP Deskjet printer and scanner just worked without any issues. One thing which struck me the most was the lightening booting speed. This is the best OS I have used so far.
Only one thing which I find a bit weird is that I get a black screen when the system is booting up, unlike in other distros where their logo is visible during boot up.
Overall a fantastic OS and I intend to stay with Solus as my work laptop OS.
