I use plank dock on all my linux distro's but once installed on Solus 4.7 Plasma it won't start.
It will only start via sudo in terminal. It seems to be some sort of permission problem (?).
Thanks for any help!

Do you get any error messages when you run it from terminal without sudo?
Ercouper Switching to x11 allowed plank to start normally.
Plasma's Wayland support makes it trivial to create a "plank replacement" that works just great. It involves creating a new panel, adding an icon-only task manager, and then setting its properties to do wht's needed. Here's what it looks like on my laptop:
There are all the options you need to do this, including one that causes the panel to avoid collisions with other windows ... just like Plank. It only takes a few minutes to figure it all out, and then it's yours forever.

When I tried Plank in Wayland Cinnamon in my backup distro the terminal output clearly said "Can't run Plank in Wayland." Yikes. Went back to X11 session.
WG I doubt your plank replacement has a transparent mode (like plank) or does it? I don't think Cinnamon offers it's own dock, someday I will doublecheck.
You can get it transparent IF the theme you're using supports it. Otherwise you can edit/hack your current theme's .css file to have it.
I guess I just like Plank the best of all the docks that I've tried. As its description says.......stupidly simple. :-)
