Heya folks! It's Friday, and that means it's time for the weekly Solus roundup!

We have a small sync this week while we prepare for an ISO release very soon. This preparation has taken much of our focus, and we want to keep the repository stable for the release. The default GNOME wallpaper has also been changed this week ahead of the updated ISOs.

As of this sync, the NVIDIA 470 driver series is no longer installable via DoFlicky, our driver management tool. The driver packages are still in the repository, however, so existing installations will not be changed, and the drivers can be installed manually via eopkg if needed. Do note, though, that NVIDIA dropped support for this driver series last September, so it will likely disappear from our repository sooner rather than later!

The following NVIDIA GPUs will no longer be supported by the proprietary drivers once 470 is removed:

We do have a new package this week, though. Bluejay, a new Bluetooth manager created by yours truly, has been added to the repository this week! It is created using Qt6 and KDE Frameworks 6. If you use Bluetooth devices and want to try a new way to manage them, do check it out. Any ideas and feedback is appreciated!

      But the release of a new ISO v 4.7 is indeed good news, and is sure to arouse the interest of Solus users.

      Does this mean that DoFlicky will eventually be removed and how, in this case, will the installation of Solus happen for computers with a graphics card still maintained by NVIDIA?

            I mean, yes, probably, but for reasons entirely unrelated to this (for example it still being written in Python2). The new software centres should be able to install hardware drivers. Not sure why you'd think from this news post that it would be removed though. It's just about removing a now unsupported driver from it

                Yes, yes, YES! 😄 Finally a Bluetooth manager that allows me to use a BT keyboard with my Xfce laptop! Well done!

                For a long time I've wanted to be able to configure my spare DELL Latitude laptop to run on Xfce, my second favorite DE, but with Blueman installed I was never able to. I could pair and connect the Arteck keyboard, but was never able to get any output from that keyboard. This all despite @TraceyC's insistence that she could do so successfully, using the same model keyboard, and closed my issue. Eventually I gave up on the idea, and hoped that one day there would be another BT manager I could try in place of Blueman.

                Now there is one, and I'm happy to report that my Xfce laptop will successfully pair, connect, and work with both my Triathlon mouse and my Arteck keyboard! Now, as time permits, I'll be able to finish configuring this laptop as an exact duplicate of my Plasma daily driver, and give it a real workout. As a plus, it will make a fine backup in case anything ever happens to my Plasma laptop.

                Not only does Bluejay work well with both my laptops, it's also a very clean, well-designed and built application. Thanks for making this available. I had tried for months to solve this problem while using Blueman, without success.

                  It's because when I search for nvidia in Solus Software Center or Gnome Software, I only see packages with version number 470.

                  But I now realize that the current version of my graphics card (565.77) is the result of the nvidia-glx-driver-common and nvidia-glx-driver-modaliases packages, sorry for this confusion.

                      No, after this update you can safely remove that modaliases file, since it's no longer required by the Hardware Drivers utility.
                      (It will be removed from the repository altogether as soon as the driver itself is deprecated, so since it's very tiny there's no rush to manually remove it now)

                        I have done fresh install of 4.7 Budgie and gprename screen fonts are very small and different.

                        Any idea?
