Notable updates
wxWidgets has been updated to version 3.2.6. This fixes a crash with VeraCrypt when the --text option is used. The full changelog can be found here.
The ROCm stack has been updated this cycle. ROCm is now at version 6.2.4, and PyTorch at 2.5. These bring performance and compatibility improvements to ML workflows on Solus.
Thunar
A couple of fixes and additions have been made to Thunar, the file manager made for XFCE. First off, we are now building the gtkhash plugin for Thunar (gtkhash-thunar-extension), enabling users to compute the checksums of files from within the file manager.
We are now also packaging the Thunar media tags plugin (thunar-media-tags-plugin). This plugin allows media organization directly from Thunar, currently via editing ID3 and OGG/Vorbis tags, as well as bulk renaming based upon those tags.
Lastly, the thunar-archive-plugin now has added or fixed support for bz2 and bz3 files, as well as some other compression mimetypes. In addition, the installation location for .tap plugin files have been fixed. As a result, xarchiver is now properly detected by Thunar for handling archive files from the context menu.
Wayland package additions
We have a couple new packages around display configuration on Wayland. Included are kanshi, a useful utility for display management under Wayland/wlroots-based compositors, and wlr-randr, a randr clone for Wayland/wlroots-based compositors. Definitely check them out if you need display configuration options on Wayland with wlroots compositors!
Also included in the repository now is gtklock, a GTK lock screen for Wayland using the ext-session-lock Wayland protocol.
Deprecations
Prusa Slicer
We have decided to deprecate prusa-slicer. This is a difficult package to maintain, and the prusa-slicer devs now officially endorse the Flatpak version, writing:
We have decided to move to Flatpak and use Flathub as the official means of distributing our application on Linux. The Flathub package here is now officially endorsed. You can follow the steps provided on the Flathub page.
You may have to move your configs manually. The devs write:
...[you can move the config manually] The Help -> Show configuration folder utility in PrusaSlicer can aid you with doing just that.

Modelio
The modelio package has been deprecated this cycle. Our package did not build, it has a fragile build system, and without a dedicated maintainer, it would break again sooner rather than later even if we fixed it now. A suitable alternative is likely to be umbrello, which is already in our repository.

We have some security updates with this sync. Be sure to install these updates for the latest vulnerability protections.
