Black screen, completely unresponsive after boot options selected

hey everybody

I have just recently begun to look into Solus and have created a live usb with the plasma iso. However, immediately after selecting the boot option of "Solus (Plasma)" in the bootloader, a completely unresponsive black screen is present, i cannot access the command line on anything else, and must hard shutdown to exit it. I have looked for similar issues across the internet, however, most seem to be able to access TTY and have already installed Solus. I have attempted to flash it as both an ISO and a DD image, however both yield the same results. Does anyone know a possible fix for this? specs listed below

NetworkChorus There've been a few users with 4xxx series NVIDIA GPUs that had trouble booting the live CD recently, but I'm not sure anyone has a proper solution.

Staudey I'm currently working on it via sending test ISOs to a helpful person with the issue. It's appearing like the GSP firmware may be a hard requirement now for nouveau and the 4xxx series GPUs, though I'm hopeful that I might be able to work around it.

Staudey that’s certainly disappointing, i did read that nvidia gpus seem to always be temperamental with solus

ReillyBrogan thank you for your response, and do let me know if you achieve a workaround. was quite excited to use solus until encountering this issue. what exactly is gsp?

NetworkChorus GSP files are massive firmware files that are loaded by a chip running on Nvidia GPUs in newer generations (I think the 1xxx generation and up). Since these files are so big we don't install them by default and they're not on the ISO, though that seems likely to change for our next release.
