I've seen TV commercials lately for a commercial VPN that sounds very attractive. But, although it's advertised as available for Linux (among others), I'm not sure it would be easy to configure for a specific Linux system. I think one that's provided by our own repositories stands a better chance of working out-of-the-box for my KDE Plasma systems.
So I'm seeking recommendations from those of you who are using Plasma, and have good experiences with a VPN that's available on Solus. One thing that I'm concerned about is that when I experimented with a VPN years ago, I was so anonymous that I couldn't order anything from stores I'd patronized for years. They didn't know who was, placing an order from Bangladesh, or wherever. And likewise, I couldn't send a message to my doctor, or access a streaming service I paid for. And paying for anything with a credit card was out of the question.
Is this still an issue? Or is the technology more advanced by now? Most of the time I spend online is with people and places that need to know who is contacting them. I almost always need to be able to log on with my credentials. Any recommendations will be appreciated.
