I am currently running the Plasma version, but I have continuous problems with the lock screen reported in another thread. I'm considering switching to Gnome even though I really dislike the workflow out of the box, but by installing the dash to panel extension I might be able to live with it.

My PC is for both professional and personal use, it's connected to my TV by HDMI.

I tried VLC running the live ISO but the screen tearing was atrocious, completely unwatchable.
Is that what I can expect on bare metal as well or is that a non-issue after installation?

rincor Well for one thing you should be able to use the Wayland session after installation (unless your GPU is very old). That should fix screen tearing as a whole.

Staudey I was going to ask if Wayland would make a difference, because I logged out thinking I could select running X11 or Wayland (like on Plasma), but no such option was available on login screen.

So how do I run the Iso using Wayland, so I can test it before installation?

        What GPU do you have?
