Some packages take a few minutes to update

Some packages, like nodejs and alsa-ucm-conf are taking a long time to install. They may take as long as 10 minutes, If a package is taking a long time to install, let it finish. We are looking into this

This appears to be an upstream bug.

Workaround: Do a forced reset on the VM

Blank laptop screen with nVidia GPU waking from suspend

This issue may still be present in 565.77.
NVIDIA laptop users might have the built-in display stay black when resuming from sleep / suspend. This is likely due to the proprietary NVIDIA drivers. There is a post in the NVIDIA forums about it.

If you have the proprietary NVIDIA drivers (nvidia-glx-driver or nvidia-glx-driver-current) installed, there is a thread on their forums for feedback on the 565 driver, for those interested.

eopkg / Discover errors

KDE Discover / eopkg update error
If you see an error that starts like the below one:

$sudo eopkg.bin it qjackctl
Program terminated.
Component.localName: 'ar' language of tag 'LocalName' is empty.
Component.localName: 'bg' language of tag 'LocalName' is empty.
Component.localName: 'he' language of tag 'LocalName' is empty.

Workaround
Run this:

sudo eopkg dc

or

sudo eopkg ur --force

Document Scanner fails to load on Wayland

Document scanner (simple-scan) may fail to load on Wayland. This is an upstream issue
When run from command line you may see this error:

❯ simple-scan

Workaround
Run from command line with this environment variable:

GSK_RENDERER=ngl simple-scan
