It appears got install software from canon (Yes they had it)
Will let know how it goes.

Oh fun time begins canon only supports deb/rpm cups not supported.
Not going mess with it today.
Be ashame if i cant use it on linux

Axios that is a professional office machine, likely with the long drum ink cartridges (M-55?) and a stitching unit (staples), and prints 1 to 2 sides and 2 to 2 sides, and ill staple & collate and staple & group and many other features my god how to run into this stuff? you have to empty the garage for this beast.

there's a .deb-extraction-to-solus-install thread but thats a 'use at your own risk' thing..

This is a freaking first having issues with printer
But get this installed airscan and it scans... (connected usb)
Never got scanner working before printer..lol

is there a way to factory reset? purge all of it's cache/stored data/etc? maybe it's looking for an intranet or company pipe.
A dig on the internets might get you all the tech/maint magic keys.
eventually you'll find the troubleshooting manual😉.
And no. I never had a scanner up before a printer!

brent Just thought would post this

Took alittle to get the feel of printer not what one is use to.
For some reason it didnt like usb or I didnt understand it for some reason
but when I went to wifi and used Cups localhost:631 I was presented when finding printer with more options
Had to use the (ppd) file from the canon download when I did that it worked.
And only had one instance of it in the budgie system settings.

Oh and solus had the driver which I think why I had more options presented.

Anyways it was interesting.
Always something new to learn.

I may have to goto fedora if I want this to work (Mumblin)
installed ppd and it complained about filter copied that but solus complains about permissions

Ok its working installed airscan for scanner
Used cups localhost:631 to set it on wifi couldnt get usb to work
Set it as driverless and presto.
got get some new toner tho.
Long story short it can be done on solus

Axios little by little. I prefer a communications cable from computer to printer instead of wi-fi but whatever works. You did a lot for one day.
