msharp1 Hi, Running Solus 4.6. The Handbrake documentation mentions that, on Ubuntu, the AMD software should be installed... (But it's not Ubuntu) In the meantime, the VCN encoder is not available on my system which runs an RX 6700
ReillyBrogan If the list of encoders is the same then that means that there's no issue with the Solus package since we support everything the official package does. This may be an issue with the handbrake documentation perhaps?
msharp1 Well, the question is, should I install specific proprietary driver to make the encoder available ? The Handbrake documentation seems to refer to that... But the steps it describes seems not prepared for any other OS but RedHat and Ubuntu...
ReillyBrogan Oh, I see the issue. Handbrake only seems to support the proprietary AMD kernel driver. Unfortunately getting that to build on Solus would be very much non-trivial and it likely would break a lot of other things along the way.
