banger Trying Plasma on a live USB and it doesn't see my printer. How to add a D1460 to test? Will try my Canon Scanner later.
ximbietc Try this Install the hplip package, which should add the HP Device Manager software sudo eopkg install hplip Connect printer via USB Launch HP Device Manager, then from the menu bar click 'Device', then 'Setup Device...' In the newly opened window, in the 'Device Discovery' screen, ensure 'Universal Serial Bus (USB)' is selected. Click 'Next' to advance to the 'Select From Discovered Devices' screen. Printer should be in list, if not, disconnect printer, reconnect printer then click 'Refresh' Select printer in list Click 'Next' and complete rest of setup You should be able to select your printer in the print dialog window when you attempt to print something.
brent He's right ^^^^^. HP sends you the the HPLIP site for the 1460 model. a converse installation alernative could be ssudo eopkg it hplip as stated above you still might have to lead 'add printer' to it. reboot often for printer installs. good luck.
banger Thanks everyone, after a reboot it was detected and I chose the CUPs driver and printed a test page. Hplip was already installed.
