Solus 6.6.9
running Solus 'live' from flash drive

THE PROBLEM
When Solus goes into sleep mode I try logging back in on the Login screen that prompts for a password. Since I am running a 'live' session I expect to log back in by pressing 'Enter' key.
However I keep getting 'Unlocking failed'.

THE SOLUTION
Try one of the 3 solutions below when booting up and logging in for the first time:

1) Open Konsol and type:
sudo passwd live
enter your preferred password
Enter
re enter it again
Enter

OR

2) Go to Settings > System Settings > enter in 'Search' > 'screen' > Screen Locking >
On right hand side of window > untick 'After waking up from sleep'
{this will ensure that the login screen wont prompt for password when you touch the keyboard, rather you will be logged straight in]

OR

3) Go to Settings > System Settings > enter in 'Search' > 'screen' > Screen Locking >
On right hand side of window > 'Allow unlocking without password for:' > set default from 5 seconds to 300 seconds or more.
NOTE: you will have to resume the session before the 300 seconds expire after the session goes into sleep mode

...and running Solus exclusively from the live environment is not a supported use case. It's supposed to be installed, sooner or later.

(You're free to do whatever of course, but the developers and many other users won't be very interested in helping you with issues that crop up; also the software selection on the current ISOs is pretty old at this point, so you won't have shiny new features and security fixes for your day-to-day computering)

Harvey changed the title to Locked out after sleep on live ISO .
