Xbox Elite Serie 2 Not Working

Hey! Before using Solus linus (on Win11) I use a Xbox Elite Serie 2 controller for gaming. But on Solus it doesn't work. My computer detect it in USB and in Bluetooth as a game controller but in Steam and AntimicroX it doesn't work. AntimicroX detect my device but the controlls doesn't work and doesn't detect my device in Bluetooth. Steam doesn't detecte my controller in any case. I've tried to reinstall the xbox controller driver or use xone/xpadneo but anything work. Thanks for help!

Looking at both xone and xpadneo, they both seem to support the Elite Series 2 controller. I know it sounds stupid but did you reboot to make sure the driver got loaded?

Yes, and I've tried these two driver independantly on a fresh install and for me it doesn't work. And I've tried on other distros which can use DKMS to install xpadneo driver and on these distros (Arch, Fedora, Pop and Serpent) it work's perfectly in USB and bluetooth. Perhaps it's because Solus doesn't support DKMS (i presume DKMS isn't supported on Solus), but I don't know why.

How are you connecting the controller? Wireless via GIP (with Xbox USB dongle), wireless via Bluetooth, or wired?

I have tested to connect my controller in USB and via bluetooth and the controller isn't detected. I don't have test with the dongle because I don't have this dongle. In other distros which support DKMS like Arch, Fedora or PopOS, the xpadneo driver work perfectly in USB and bluetooth mode. And ideally I don't want to change my distro just to use a controller (I've tried Arch but I don't have all the knowledges to maintain a arch distro on my main computer)...

EnceladusII You didn't really answer the question whether you rebooted after installing the respective driver packages or not, but from context clues I'm guessing yes(?)

Which driver packages did you install exactly? Because if you use the linux-current kernel (default) you need xpadneo-current or xone-current, not xpadneo or xone (easy mistake to make)

I can't be of help except to say I was just playing Elden Ring through Steam on my Xbox Elite Series 2 via wired USB with no issue on Solus Plasma.

So you have a lot of chance! Perhaps it's because I'm on GNOME (I don't really like Plasma). Or I made a mistake during the driver installation, I don't know.

That can be my error, because I've used the linux-current kernel and just follow the installation instruction on the xpadneo GitHub. I test your instruction and see if it work

Ah, sorry, I thought xpadneo was a package in the Solus repository, just like xone. So only xone-current exists as a package.
(I saw the xpad package previously, I think, which is something else entirely)

[RESOLVED] I've just install a non-official version of DKMS (like that https://github.com/dell/dkms) using linux-current kernel and after just install the xpadneo driver (https://github.com/atar-axis/xpadneo) by classical installation (like dkms compatible versions)

EnceladusII This will probably not survive kernel updates (or at least it would surprise me). If I were you I'd try and see if the xone-current Solus package is also sufficient.

No problem! And that can be very interesting to have xpadneo package in the Solus repository because in my case the xone package isn't efficient with my controller (Perhaps due to the version of my Elite Series 2 or because a drive that I have install in during I game on Windows, don't really know)

But thanks for your help, I've found the solution by installing an unofficial version of a DKMS git repository to install xpadneo with the DKMS and it perfectly work (My controller is called Xbox 360 controller in steam and AntimicroX but all the controls works, I don't know for the moment if the name of the controller impact their functions and features but hope isn't the case)

This is expected. xone/xone-current supports wired and GIP, but not bluetooth connections.

This is not expected. Steam should detect the controller correctly. Could you share the exact package name of xone you had installed that wasn't working? You should be able to find that in the output of eopkg history.
