HI !
I use cmus but I'm looking for a way to rename songs and artists like I could on clementine.
I have too many unknown artists and I'd like to be able to change that with cmus. Is that possible?

Another audio player? Sure, loads of them do. Like for example audacious. Or do you mean a terminal interface audio player? In which case I don't have experience with those.

I was using foobar 2000 at the start of my linux adventure in 2012. But foobar is not on the repo.

I thought foobar 2000 is a Windows app? There was discussion of a foobar 2000 clone called fooyin on these forums recently (https://discuss.getsol.us/d/10624-fooyin-a-foobar2000-clone). That one is in the repo. Not sure if either foobar 2000 or fooyin have a terminal interface though.

cmus displays the file name of a song. To rename the file name from cli there is commands like mv.
Music/multimedia players displays the metadata info of the file.
Which one to you wnat to alter .The file name or the metadata info?

I found kid3-cli in our repo, it is not an extentension of cmus but it supposedly can edit mp3 tags. I never used it, so I cannot vouch for you how good it is.

Puddletag is in repo if your wanting to edit tag file.
And seems current in changelog.

On ncmpcpp you can edit tags with "e".
