Is this a clean install of Souls onto a wiped disk or are you dual booting with another OS? For eg Windows.
If a clean install have you wiped the partition table as not wiping this can cause problems when migrating from another OS.
Edit: Also connecting to WiFi before running the installer will avoid a lot of warnings and is recommended.
If this is a new Asus Vivobook then you need to log into windows and disable Bitlocker encryption to be able to install Linux. I had to do this on a brand new Vivobook i just bought.
Also make sure your EFI parition is minimum 1GB
