AlphaElwedritsch they made it clear in the beginning it was a home computing/desktop niche they were after. The rest is blood sweat and tears and Celtic Magic. It was Ikey who was the visionary In the Beginning, then that vision morphed and caught fire in an incredible way, and now a dozen geniuses steer the ship.
many here have never left Solus from the beginning. Distro-hopping is fun, and a sport, but always a hobby because there is Solus and only Solus as the main man.
AlphaElwedritsch mported for me:
Newest KDE
Newest libre office
Stable core system
Flatpak integration
Brave (included in repo, 👍)
cyclic update interval with proper changelog (every Friday)
Need only one flatpak packet (portfolio performance)
I've spent time with Open Build packages (deb) and AUR packages (arch) and the COPR (fedora) but despite having gobs and gobs of apps, these repos are never quite vouched for by the mothership distro, so the simplicity of Solus is hard to match. Flatpak is always the go-to and usually/sometimes if you officially request a package, and make a convincing case, and find someone to maintain it (Solus has a lot of volunteers) you might just get your wish.
Make devtracker a bookmark so you can stay on top of all that.
Rock on man, I understand your excitement completely 🤘
